Invicta Automatic Pro Diver 200M Black Dial INV8926OB/8926OB Men’s Watch

My diving partner Alex is a huge fan when it comes to watches – he has several in his collection, of which a few are diver watches. So, the other day, I noticed him wearing a new one and at first glance thought it to be the Rolex Submariner. It actually turned out to be the Invicta Pro Diver Black Dial 8926OB Men’s watch which, I thought is perhaps the best homage to the Rolex Submariner.

Invicta is an American owned watch brand which traces its roots to the Swiss watch industry. The term Invicta means invincible in Latin and the brand largely makes good quality, functional dive watches that are extremely affordable.

Like most onlookers, I mistook the Invicta on Alex’s wrist to be a Rolex. The Invicta Pro Diver 8926OB may look like a Rolex because it borrows heavily from the original design. Invicta Pro Diver may have a striking resemblance to the Rolex but it is sold at a fraction of the price. As such, it is meant for that section of the population who aspire to own a Rolex but cannot afford to shell out ten thousand (or more) dollars on a diver watch.

Invicta Pro Diver is for folks who need a superior quality functional timepiece that does not break the bank. That the Invicta accords the wearer a status symbol associated with Rolex is an added bonus.

The superior workmanship of the Invicta Pro Diver Automatic is evidenced in the smooth, clean finish of the stainless-steel case and dial. Brushed and mirror finishes give a unique lustre to the watch and the stainless-steel link bracelet does the rest for the great looks of this watch.

I think the black dial is highlighted due to this impeccable finish. With the white luminous markers and the hands, it is a picture of clarity, allowing for easy readability in the dark. The date window at 3 o’clock marker is magnified by the cyclops effect on the mineral glass.  

At 40 mm diameter, the Invicta Pro Diver 8926OB is perfect comfortable fit for the average wrist. The unidirectional bezel is easy to rotate, thanks to the coinage design which is also carried on to the screw down crown.   The transparent case back displays the workings of the Japanese Caliber NH35A automatic movement, a nice touch.

The Invicta INV8926Ob is an automatic watch, which means it is powered by the movement of your wrist and doesn’t require batteries, it can also be manually wound. It is water resistant up to 200m, good enough for swimming and water sports. Invicta INV8926OB looks great and is perfect for all occasions.
