This one came from the first line of watches that housed the Seiko Kinetic Direct Drive movement. It is way above in all aspects than ordinary Seiko-s. Its design is influenced by nautical (or, boating) watches, the hands borrowing from the sails and the hour indexes from proper diving watches. While you do not necessarily have to be a nautical expert to wear the Velatura, it is recommended that you should be one.
